Jennie George, 104, of North Providence, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024. She was the wife of the late Louis B. George. Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Carmella (Sarcarito) Marcotrigiano.
A loving and devoted, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her three children, Richard George and his wife, Leah, Beverly Harding and Robert George and his wife, Stephanie; four grandchildren, Tanya Young, Robert George II, Vanessa Hart and Jeffrey George; Great grandchildren Robert Merola, Dylan George, Alexandra Hart and Milania Hart. Extended grandchildren Alicia Kilduff, Michael Kilduff, Robert Ryan, Christopher Ryan, and Matthew Ryan, and extended great-grandchildren: Jackson Caldarone, Ava Caldarone, MJ Kilduff, Madison Kilduff., Leo Joubert, Cameron Ryan, Nolan Ryan, Jake Ryan and Jackson Ryan. She was the sister of the late Gaetano Marcotrigiano, Dorothy DelToro, Mary Sheldon, Rose Salvato, Anna Corsa, Phyllis Schiavulli, Mildred DiSanto and Rubina Ferri.
Jennie worked for Spidel, Kesteman Brothers and Vargas Manufacturing for many years before retiring. In addition, she enjoyed weekly card games with her sisters, travel including trips to Florida, Oregon and LasVegas, and music concerts at the North Providence Senior Center. Her amazing quick wit made people laugh and lasted until her final days.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 10 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in The Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennie’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
