Jennie Rose Romano ( Gasbarrino ), 83, of Johnston, passed away September 8, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Alfonso Sabatino Romano. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Mucciaciaro) Gasbarrino.
Jennie was a bookkeeper for Supreme Dairy Farms and had previously worked as an executive secretary for the Davol Rubber Company. She had been a volunteer for the Cub Scouts and for New Avenues Mental Health Association, Johnston.
Besides her husband of 61 years, she leaves a son, Michael J. Romano; a sister, Mary Timpani and a granddaughter, Jasmine Lee Carcieri. She was the sister of the late Ernest and Paul Gasbarrino, Louise Remarski and Phyllis Gallo.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Visitation Thursday 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
