Vincenza “Jennie” Tullo (DiMauro), formerly of Providence, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Villa Rey in Culver City, CA at the age of 90 on February 28, 2009. She was the devoted wife of the late Michael C. Tullo, former owner of Mt. Pleasant Dairy of Providence, and the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Macchio) DiMauro.

She is survived by a son, Robert Tullo of Delray Beach, Florida and two daughters, Maria Licker of Los Angeles, CA and Diana Bergantino of Laguna Niguel, CA. She was the mother of the late Michael C. Tullo, Jr. of Johnston. Mrs. Tullo also has 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Christie, Michael and Frank DiMauro as well as a sister, Nancy Messore. She is survived by one sister, Frances Schiavulli.

“Jennie” as she was known by everyone was an active member of the Senior Center of Cranston where she won “Miss Congeniality” in their yearly pageant and was teased and admired by her children and grandchildren for her new found fame. Mrs. Tullo relocated to California in 2006. Jennie and her husband, Mike were charter members of the Alpine County Club in Johnston. She was a serious and spirited card and bingo player and was never too tired for “one more game”. Also known for her famous crocheting, she taught her daughters how to crochet and made numerous Afghans that were given to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to remember her by for the rest of their lives.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St Mary Church, Cranston, St., Cranston. Visitation Friday 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Condolences at maceroni.com
