John Ciolli, 80, of Providence, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007 at home. He was the beloved husband of Lucretia ( Celeberto) Ciolli. A lifelong resident of Providence, he was the son of the late Domenic and Michelina (Leone) Ciolli.
John had worked as a truck driver for John J. Hudson Company for 29 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 251. He served his Country in the Army during WWII and was an avid wrestling fan. A communicant of St. Thomas Church in Providence, he was also a greeter and usher at the church. He was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather and great grandfather.
Besides his wife of 55 years, he leaves a daughter, Michelina “Micki” Ciolli; four sisters, Carrie Maglio, Gloria Giordino, Dorothy Ciolli and Lena Reynolds; two grandchildren, Stacy and Thomas Iasimone and a great grandson, Nicholas Iasimone.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home,1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
