Joseph P. Accetturo

Joseph P. Accetturo, Esq., 74, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 22, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Anna Mary (LaChapelle) Accetturo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Matilda (DiStefano) Accetturo.

Mr. Accetturo was a practicing attorney at Merolla, Accetturo & Lough. He was also the property manager at Cedar Springs. Joe was a graduate of LaSalle Academy, Providence College and earned his juris doctorate degree from Roger Williams Law School. A decorated Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was the recipient of The Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Accetturo II, CPA and his wife Cristina of North Providence. Joe was the cherished grandfather of Mia and Sophia Accetturo.

His funeral will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Atwells Ave., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Thursday 4 - 7 p.m.
