Joseph Americo Box

Joseph Americo Box died July 10,2024 at the age of 77. He was a devoted and loving son to Americo and Gertrude (Abel) Box. He was the brother to Gertrude Sarli, wife to the late Richard Sarli; Grace Jonah, wife to the late William Jonah. Joe was the uncle to Kim-Marie Stalaboine (husband: Joseph Stalaboine), Kevin Sarli (wife: Denice Sarli), and Jennifer Fredette ( husband: Richard Fredette), Great uncle to Katelynn and Alyssa Stalaboin; Lorelai, Madelyn, Elliot Sarli, and Haley Fredette.

 Joe worked for the Pawtucket Post Office for thirty-four years. He was a member of the American Legion, and he volunteered his time with the Boy Scouts of America.

He was a man who yearned to volunteer and received numerous letters of recognition and appreciation for his help. He was an avid gardener who grew the most delicious tomatoes. He loved to take long walks with his beloved dog Gidget while socializing with his neighbors during his walks. He was a humble man who valued family unity, enjoyed family holiday meals and treated himself to Milky Way bars, whopper sandwiches and egg rolls.

Visitation will be held Friday morning, July 19, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Prayer Service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to the Dawn Hill Nursing Home, 1 Dawn Hill, Bristol, RI 02809.
