Joseph J. Maselli, 89, of Providence, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Norma (Forrest) Maselli. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Michael and Theresa (Detata) Maselli.
Joseph was co-owner of Ideal Knife Company, a family business, for most of his life. An Air Corps Veteran of WWII, he was a member of VFW Post 10,011, the Knights of Columbus, Council 10557 and the Manton Seniors. He was Treasurer of the Interest Club at St. Augustine Church, an usher and a member of the Church Bowling League. He was also a lifelong Yankee fan.
He leaves a son Michael Maselli and his wife Sharon; two brothers, Nick and Michael Maselli; a granddaughter, Nicole Jackson and a beloved niece, Elaine Roddeck.
He was the brother of the late Thomas Maselli.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. VISITATION Monday 5-8 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
