Joseph Lombardi

Joseph Lombardi, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his daughter and with his sons by his side on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Cynthia (Fortin) Lombardi. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lucia (Nasso) Lombardi.

He is survived by his cherished children, Douglas Lombardi and his wife Charlene, Rachel Lombardi and Christopher Lombardi; his brother, Richard Lombardi and his wife, Rena; his sister, Beverly Magnuski; his cousin, Carole Lombardi; and five grandchildren, Kristina, Nicholas, Kara, Emily and Alyshia. He was the father of the late Joseph Lombardi III and Rebecca Lombardi.

Joe earned his master's degree in education and was a devoted educator for the Barrington School Department for 33 years before retiring. He was a fantastic father to his five children, parenting with much love and devotion. He enjoyed traveling, gardening; and was a faithful parishioner of St. Anthony Church.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 8 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Tuesday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory may be made to St. Anthony Church, 5 Gibbs St., North Providence, RI 02904.
