Josephine Carmela Ferrante, 96, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on June 30. She was the daughter of Anthony and Mary Demarco (née Defusco) and the wife of the late Joseph Ferrante.

She danced with soldiers at the USO during World War II. She visited Walt Disney World when it opened in 1971. Frank Sinatra once touched her on the arm.
Josephine was the sister of her beloved brother, the late Anthony J. DeMarco. She is survived by sisters Marie Cicillini , Susanna Garofano, and Shirley Barbato, children Cynthia Kunz and Michael Venditti, grandchildren Nicholas and Robert, great-grandchildren Mary and Paul, and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends who cherished and will miss her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Josephine on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
