Josephine O. Taraska (DeSantis), 84, of East Greenwich, passed away Friday, July 13, 2007, at Kent Hospital in Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Florino J. Taraska. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Giuseppina (Marzilli) DeSantis.
Josephine had been employed at Universal Optical. She enjoyed bingo, loved gardening and was an avid card player. A loving wife and mother and a devoted grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by a son, Ronald J. Taraska; two daughters, Janet Aldrich and Joan Johnson; a brother, Larry DeSantis; seven grandchildren, Erin Boysan, Kelly Taraska, Jeffrey and Kristen Aldrich, Jamie, Laura and Tracie Johnson and a great grandson, Blake Walter Taraska. She was the sister of the late James and Red DeSantis, Lena Box and Eleanor DiRobbio.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. VISITATION Monday 6-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
