Julian A. Zienowicz, 90, of North Providence, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Home & Hospice Care of RI. He was the beloved husband of Antonetta “Etta” (Piscopo) Zienowicz. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Felicia (Kacufka) Zienowicz.

Julian was as a manger at Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing for 45 years before retiring. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Bouffard Council of North Providence and a 4th degree Knight of Adams Assembly. He was past president of Big Brothers of RI and had also served on its Board of Directors.

Besides his wife of 62 years, he leaves two brothers, Mitchell and Frederick Zienowicz of Warwick; four sisters, Jennie Tedeschi of West Warwick, Melvina Zienowicz of Johnston, Phyllis Mendozzi of Foster, Irene Salzillo of Johnston; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Francis “Steve”, Stanley and John Zienowicz, Mary Konerko, Ann Katkowski and Elenore Danko.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence, RI 02911. Visitation Wednesday 4-7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02904 or to Mary, Mother of Mankind Church.
