Kenneth Marandola, Sr.

Kenneth Marandola Sr., 75, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, with his loving wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of Paula (DeRita) Marandola for 50 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Theresa (Turchetta) Marandola and was a life-long resident of North Providence.

Kenny began his electrical apprenticeship with IBEW Local 99 in 1968, was initiated into the union in November 1970, and worked as a master electrician for IBEW for forty-one years, before retiring in February 2011. He continued to be an active member of the retiree brotherhood and enjoyed planning annual charter fishing excursions. Kenny was an avid PC Friar basketball fan and enjoyed attending games regularly as a season ticket holder. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and tending to his garden. Spending time with his beloved family was always his priority and he was especially proud of his grandchildren, supporting them in any way he could.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kenneth Marandola Jr., Marissa Marandola Schaumberg and her husband Eric Schaumberg, and Raymond Marandola, DVM; his siblings, Patricia DeThomas, Robert Marandola and his wife Fran, David Marandola and Marguerite Marandola; and his cherished grandchildren, Greg, Mia, Lyla, Lucas and Joseph Schaumberg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 9 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven, East Providence. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 4 – 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kenny’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
