Langdon Wilby, 85, of Hollywood, Florida and formerly of Johnston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arthur and Aldea (SanSouci) Wilby. Lang was a general manager at the Shipyard Drive-In, Pike Drive-In and others before opening The Carillion Restaurant in Johnston. He continued his restaurant success opening several restaurants in Rhode Island including, The Vineyard Restaurant in Johnston and The Villa Rosa Restaurant in Attleboro and Pawtucket. An equestrian enthusiast, he owned several horses and enjoyed horse racing and golfing. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. A loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his daughter, Lorraine Wilby; his son Langdon Cassidy; his grandchildren, Brandon, Shaun and James Cassidy; his great-grandchildren, Nickolas, Georgia, Kylie, Rylie, Susie, Zoey and Kayden. He was the brother of the late Arthur Wilby, Anita Beaumier, Thomas "Mickey" Wilby, Edith Cluen and Norman Wilby. His funeral and burial were private.
