Lena M. Butera

Lena M. Butera, 95, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore C."Sam" Butera. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late William and Amelia (Bertolini) Bianchini.

A devout parishioner of St. Anthony Church, Mrs. Butera served as a Eucharistic Minister, a Religious Education Teacher and was a member of the Ladies Sodality.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her children, Salvatore C. Butera, Jr. of North Providence, Donna D'Ordine formerly of North Providence, Doreen M. Natale and her husband John of North Providence and Cheryl A. Proulx and her husband Michael of North Kingstown; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Bianchini, Jr. and Robert Bianchini.

Visitation will be held Friday Morning, December 17, 2021 from 9 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Butera's memory may be made to: St. Anthony Church Kitchen Ministry, 5 Gibbs St., North Providence, RI 02904.
