Letizia Capuano

Letizia "Letty" A. (Russo) Capuano, 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023 after a long and contented life with her family and friends. Born on April 11, 1928 in North Providence, where she was a lifelong resident, she was the daughter of Achille and Mary (Capasso) Russo. Letty was the wife of the late Joseph Capuano who predeceased her in 1996. She is survived by her beloved son, Anthony, daughter-in-law, Linda, and her cherished grandchildren, Joseph and MariaLuisa. Letty was predeceased by her infant son, Joseph, and two brothers, Anthony and Achille Russo. Letty also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom provided her with many years of happy memories. A special note of gratitude is extended to her many caring friends and second family at the Bridge at Cherry Hill Assisted Living where she spent her last two years.

Letty was a 1946 graduate of North Providence High School and worked at Cranston Loan in Centerdale until her marriage in 1951; she was also a clerk in the North Providence Tax Assessor's Office for many years. Letty was an active parishioner and member of St. Ann's Sodality at Our Lady of Grace Church. Surrounded by her family and friends and happiest enjoying simple pleasures, such as family dinners and celebrations, frequent outings with friends, and shopping sprees, she would always say "God has been good to me". Calling hours are omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston, RI. Burial to follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Grace Memorial Fund, 4 Lafayette Street, Johnston, RI 02919.
