Liberato Bucci “Libby”, 90, of Smithfield, formerly of Providence, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 at North Bay Manor. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Geremia and Lucia (Lisi) Bucci.

Liberato was a Letter Carrier for the United States Post Office for 30 years until retiring in 1981 and was a Life Member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a 1938 graduate of Central High School and a 1948 graduate of Johnson & Wales Business School. He was also an avid sports fan.

He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was the brother of the late Anthony, Ralph and Michael Bucci, Anna M. Conti, Madeline Zahorjan and Grace Perrotti.

His funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Ave., Greenville. Visitation Sunday 3-6 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Donations in his memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
