Louis G. Petreccia

Louis G. Petreccia, 87, of Auburn, MA, formerly of Providence, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Life Care Center in Auburn, MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary G. Petreccia (Del Greco). Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Nicola and Ersila (Fuoco) Petreccia. He had lived in Auburn for the past 19 years.

Louis was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had owned and operated State Auto Body of Providence. An Army Veteran of WWII, he was a lifetime member of VFW Post 10,011 in North Providence and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Dillon Council and the San Biagio Society. He loved to golf and was a woodworking enthusiast.

He leaves a son, Ray Petreccia and his wife Shelly; a daughter, Theresa Rhodes and her husband Robert; four sisters, Carmela Vellucci, Rose Fitzsimmons, Angelina Kiley and Antonetta Gill and four grandchildren, Giana Petreccia, Sarah and Jessica Rhodes and Gina Cabral. He was the brother of the late Vincent H. Petreccia, Sr., Maria Petreccia and Anna Marcone.

Funeral and visitation Saturday morning from 8am to 9am in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Pius Church, Eaton St., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
