MADELINE ZAHORJAN (BUCCI), 81, a homemaker who was active in Orchard Park community organizations, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006, in her Orchard Park, New York home after a short illness. She was the wife of John Zahorjan who passed away in 1999. They were married 50 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Geremia and Lucia (Lisi) Bucci. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Pembroke College at Brown University.
Mrs. Zahorjan was an active member of the Woman’s Club of Orchard Park, most recently serving as recording secretary. She also served as the head of the Orchard Park Bridge Marathon Club and volunteered at the Orchard Park Public Library and Orchard Park School System.
Survivors include two daughters, Irene McNamara and her husband Robert and Joan Zahorjan; a son, John Zahorjan and his wife Elizabeth; a sister, Grace Perrotti; a brother Liberato “Labby” Bucci, and four grandchildren, Molly, Brian and James McNamara and John-Joseph Zahorjan. She was the sister of the late Ralph, Michael and Anthony “Tony” Bucci and Anna “Mary” Conti.
Visitation at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, Saturday morning 10am-11am followed by a service at 11am. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
