Mafalda "Muffy" Puopolo

Mafalda “Muffy” Puopolo, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2023.  She was the wife of the late Ralph Puopolo.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Francesca (Damiani) Lasorsa.

Mafalda was employed at School House Candy for twenty-five years.  After retiring, she enjoyed staying at home baking and cooking for her family, enjoying her daily T.V. shows and being entertained by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her two daughters, Diane Quattrucci and her husband, Benjamin, Brenda Haddad and her late husband, Paul; her brother, Victor “Sal” Lasorsa; six grandchildren, Benjamin A. Quattrucci, Dawn D’Ercole, Emily Haddad, Christopher Haddad, Lisa Parker and Scott Quattrucci; and six great-grandchildren, Gianna, Cara, Ava, Marisa, Victoria and Oliver. She was the mother of the late Ralph Joseph Puopolo, grandmother of the late Paul-Joseph Peter Haddad and the sister of the late William Lasorsa, Rose Barravecchia and Anna Maria “Mary” Mondillo. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 9 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Presentation, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.  Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mafalda’s memory may be made to St. Edward Food and Wellness Center, 5 Gibbs St., North Providence, RI 02904.

CARD OF THANKS

The children of the late Mafalda Puopolo “Muffy” extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all family members and many friends for their flowers, cards, spirituals, baskets, contributions and attendance at mom’s visitation and funeral mass.

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and certified nurse’s assistant at Briarcliffe Skilled Nursing and Briarcliffe Gardens for their genuine care and compassion extended toward mom and family members. In addition, we want to extend our heartful thanks to all members of Continuum Hospice Care for their compassion and comfort care.

We thank Father Richard Bucci for his glorious celebration of mom’s mass.

We thank granddaughters who participated in the mass, grandsons and nephews who accompanied mom to the alter and her place of rest. 

We thank the staff at Imondi’s Florist for their guidance when selecting the beautiful floral arrangements.

To Mr. Brad Presnol and all staff members at Maceroni Funeral Home, we thank you for your direction, compassion, professionalism and respect extended to our family and friends.

We want to thank Mr. Chris Spertini and all professional staff members at Maria’s Cucina Restaurant for their courtesy and service extended to all who attended.
