MARIA (DiFOLCO) CIANCIO, 92, of Cranston, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph Ciancio. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Eleuterio and Anna (Scorpio) DiFolco.
Mrs. Ciancio was known as an elegant dresser whose positive nature made her good company. With her unerring memory, she filled the role of family historian, and her ability to recount stories that connect new and old generations will be missed.
She is survived by her sister, Sofia Palmisciano and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Domenico DiFolco and Anna McCormick.
Visitation will be held Wednesday Morning, February 17, 2016 from 10 a.m.to 11 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Ciancio’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, One State St., Suite 200, Providence, RI 02908.
