Maria A. Fruggiero

Maria A. Fruggiero, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Friday, March 31, 2023. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Fruggiero. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Caporale) Capobianco.

Maria enjoyed cooking, baking, and reading and most importantly, spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her four children, Joan M. Baccala, Christine Fruggiero, Robert J. Fruggiero, Roger A. Fruggiero and his wife Lisa, as well as nine grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rocco Capobianco, Anthony Capobianco, and Elaine Celeste.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 12 p.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private and visitation is respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Fruggiero's memory may be made to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Ave., Providence, RI 02907.
