Martin J. Nemirow, 79, of Warwick passed away Sunday, May 17 after a brief illness. He leaves the love of his life of 54 years Janet (Falcone) and the apples of his eyes Jennifer of Bristol & David of San Diego, Ca, He was also beloved "Uncle Marty" to his many nieces and nephews who he loved beyond words. And he was a great friend to many. Martin was born in The Bronx to Phil and Sybil (Bergavoy) and moved to Rhode Island with his family at age 15. He graduated from Hope High School & attended Bryant College. Even though he was born in the Bronx, he considered the Red Sox his "team" despite the rest of his family cheering on the Evil Empire. He worked for many years in the shoe industry until his retirement. Marty was a history buff and many said he should have been a professor, and in the days when he smoked a pipe, he certainly looked quite professorial. He had a particular passion for World War II battle history & Winston Churchill was one of his heroes. Conservative Marty loved politics & enjoyed immensely getting into political "discussions" with his more liberal leaning friends and family. Marty also loved animals especially Fiona the cat in Bristol & Ty the dog in San Diego. Above all Marty was a man who loved his family above all things and was proud of all their accomplishments. A Celebration of Martin's Life will be held at a later date when it is safe for family and friends to gather again. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a veterans organization of your choice.?
