MARY A. (MACIOROWSKI) RUGGIERO, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Michael A. Ruggiero for 55 years. Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Anna (Augustyn) Maciorowski. She was a lifelong resident of Providence and a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School.
Mrs. Ruggiero worked for the former Coro Manufacturing Company before enlisting in the United States Women’s Army Corps. She attained the rank of Sgt. 1st Class and worked in the finance department at the following United States Military Installations throughout the world, Fort Jay – Governors Island, NY, Federal Branch for Finance – Indianapolis, IN, Fort Leonard Wood - Missouri and Okinawa Japan. After her military service she attended Bryant College and returned to work in the finance department at the Coro Manufacturing Company and the W.R. Cobb Company.
Besides her husband she is survived by her son, Michael B. Ruggiero; a nephew, Edward Maciorowski; and a niece, Anita Roberts. She was the sister of the late Edward, Joseph, Stanley and Helen Maciorowski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight St., Providence. Interment with Military Honors will be private. Visitation respectfully omitted.
