Maurice “Moe” P. Ouellette

Maurice “Moe” P. Ouellette, age 86, passed peacefully at home on Thursday, March 6, after a brief illness. Moe was born in Central Falls, RI, the son of Robert and Noella (Boutin) Ouellette. He married his beloved wife, Claire (Rosini) Ouellette in 1963, and they enjoyed 45 devoted years together, before her passing in 2008. They are survived by their two children, Jeffrey Ouellette and Marlene Ouellette.

Moe is survived by his brother, Raymond Ouellette, his nieces, Karen Balcom, Tracie Pellerin, Nicole Becker and Kerri Catalano, his nephew, Roger Ouellette, Jr., innumerable cousins, and his companion, Eileen Cunningham and her family. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law and brother, Patricia and Roger Ouellette, Sr., his sister-in-law, Carol Ouellette, and his two godsons, Scott Casey and Richard Valiere.

Moe attended Sacred Heart High School (Central Falls, RI) and Bryant University. He served in the U.S. Army as part of the restoration forces in Korea. He was district sales manager in Southern New England for Marcal Paper Mills. He founded Lucky Pierre Creations. His civic and volunteer engagement included the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Narragansett Yacht Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Lions Club of Mount Pleasant. Moe was a member of St. Thomas Church, for which he served on numerous committees and coach of CYO basketball.

The Ouellette family would like to extend their unending appreciation for the diligent care and dedication of the nurses and health workers of Hope Health Hospice, the Rhode Island VA and Mary Reynolds Home Healthcare.

Visitation hours will be Thursday, March 13 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, RI 02911. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, March 14 at 10:00AM at St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence, RI 02909, to be followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

En lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence, RI 02909.
