Michael Accetturo, 91, of Johnston, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at Hebert Nursing Home in Smithfield . He was the beloved husband of Marie “Carrie” (DeNucci) Accetturo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Emilio Accetturo, Sr. and Michelina M. “Maggie” (Bova) Accetturo.
He had worked as a foreman for Parisi Tool Company for many years and was an Army Veteran of WWII.
Michael was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather and great grandfather. Besides his wife of 65 years, he leaves three sons, Michael T. Accetturo and his wife Marie, Emilio “Archie” Accetturo and his wife Roberta and Robert Accetturo and his wife Diane; a brother Emilio Accetturo, Jr.; six grandchildren, David, Brad, Marissa, Joshua, Juliana and Jillian Accetturo and three great grandchildren, Brianna, Madison and Isabella. He was the grandfather of the late Michael Accetturo II and the brother of the late Pasquale “Pat” Accetturo and Josephine Cunetta,
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston. VISITATION Friday 5-8pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
