MICHAEL CALDARONE, Jr., 68, of North Providence, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007, at home. He was the beloved husband of Norma (Silvestro) Caldarone. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Michael Caldarone, Sr. and Concetta (Conca) Caldarone.He had lived in North Providence for 42 years.
Michael had worked as a diamond tool cutter for J&M Diamond Tool of East Providence until his illness. He was also one of the owners of Gilmore Diamonnds.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was an historian buff especially concerning the World Wars that had been previously fought. An avid golfer, he was a former member of the Hillside Country Club. He had also coached North Providence Little League.
Besides his wife of 47 years, he is survived by a son, Michael S. Caldarone and his wife Paula; two grandchildren, Alex Tremblay and Madison Caldarone, a brother-in-law, Ralph Schaumberg and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Patricia Schaumberg.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8am, from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, Fourth St., North Providence. VISITATION Tuesday 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
