MICHAEL E.TURCONE Sr., 92, of North Providence, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn A. (Sarcione) Turcone. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Amelia (Ligouri) Turcone.
Michael had been a Contractor/Builder and owned and operated the former Turcone Construction Company. He was a Past President of the North Providence Lions Club and a Past District Governor of Lions Club International, District 42. He also founded the R.I. Lions Pin Traders Club. A 1938 Graduate of Brown University, he was an All American football player and had played professional football in New York.
He is survived by three children, John T. Turcone, Michael E. Turcone, Jr. and Paula E. Turcone; three sisters, Violet Bellano, Gloria Scotto and Theresa Corso; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Marilynn DeLuca and the brother of the late Dr. Albert Turcone.
The funeral will be held Monday at 8am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. VISITATION Sunday 6-8pm. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
