Michael A. Ruggiero, 94, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary A. Ruggiero (Maciorowski) for 55 years. A lifelong resident of Providence, he was the son of the late Biagio and Brigida (DeDonato) Ruggiero. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy.
Mr. Ruggiero was a buyer for the former Providence Wholesale Drug Company. He was also a warehouse associate for City Hall Hardware and was a member of Teamsters Local 251 and Local 251 Retirees Chapter.
He was a clarinetist whose earliest instruction was provided by the late Michael F. Lozzi. He was a member of various local bands including the former Natick Columbus and Ocean State Heritage Bands.
He is survived by his son, Michael B. Ruggiero, and a sister, Carolina Bucci. He was the brother of the late Ann Ruggiero.
Visiting hours will be Friday morning from 8:15 to 9:15 AM at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
