PALMIRA M.'POLLY' ROSSI (CRENCA), 84, formerly of Peach Hill Avenue, North Providence, passed away on March 13, 2007. She was the wife of the late Louis Rossi.
She was born in Falvaterra, Italy, and came to Providence with her family when she was 6 years old. Her parents were the late Umberto and Maria Nicola (Lombardi) Crenca. For many years she worked in Rhode Island's jewelry industry, including at Coro Jewelry and Mag Jewelry. Together with her husband, she owned and operated Sta-Brite Aluminum Finishers for 20 years. Above all, she was devoted to family, and found great joy in the traditions and celebrations of her children and grandchildren, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Saez, Louis Rossi, and Robert Rossi, by her grandchildren Andrea, Robert, Heather, Jason, Ariana, and Venetia, and by 3 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Lena Rotondo, Mario Crenca, and the late Armando Crenca, Jack Crenca, Santina Cola, and Elena Malaga.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. VISITATION Thursday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Donations in her name may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Pantry, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI 02919
