Peter A. Filippi, 85, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008. He was the husband of the late Ada M. (Pendlebury) Filippi and the son of the late Pietro and Teresa (DiPierro) Filippi.
Mr. Filippi was the owner and operator of the former Ballards of Smithfield and had owned the Nanpetisa Stables at Lincoln Park for many years. He was a WWII Navy Veteran.
He was the beloved father of Peter A. Filippi, III and wife Susan, Nancy M. Belluscio and husband James and Isabel A. Corio and husband William. He also leaves a sister, Marie Ambrosia; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Victor, Ben, Paul, Alfred and Raymond Filippi, Madeline Dubois and Nancy Meloche.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. VISITATION Monday 4-7pm. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
