Peter A. Ceci, age 98, of Providence, formerly of Glocester, passed into eternal rest on October 17, 2024. He was the husband of Dorothy (Riccitelli) Ceci for 68 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ercole and Almerinda (Lutrario) Ceci. He was the brother of the late Americo Ceci, Henry Ceci, Anna Atkins and Susan Ceci.
As a young boy, Peter lived through the Great Depression. He learned to care deeply for others and to lead a very frugal lifestyle. He was always grateful and had a great perspective on life.
Peter was the patriarch of the family. He never forgot a birthday or anniversary. For the past 30+ years, regardless of the weather, he gathered his siblings, nieces and great-nieces and nephews for a pre-Christmas dinner at Wright’s Farm. This became a cherished tradition for the entire family, and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews will carry on the tradition in his memory.
Peter worked as a cost accountant for US Rubber and Victor Electric and was perfectly suited for this work. For an accountant, he had exceptional style and taste. He was always impeccably dressed and his homes were beautifully furnished, but he always purchased at the best price possible, and encouraged his family to do the same. He loved working in the yard. With Dottie by his side, he planted over 300 bushes and trees at his home in Glocester. In his retirement, he and Dottie enjoyed having their lunch on the boardwalk at the beach, and looked forward to bus trips to Foxwoods to play Bingo.
Visitation and prayer service will be held Thursday Morning, October 24, 2024 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory may be made to My Brother's Keeper, PO Box 338, Easton, MA 02356.
