Peter J. Capozzi

CAPOZZI, Peter, J. “Pete the Cop”, 77, passed away Monday, August 21, 2006, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the loving husband of Frances (Scaglione) Capozzi for 48 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Saverio and Marie (Romagnano) Capozzi.

Peter was a Providence Police Officer for 20 years retiring in 1976. He also worked for the RI Registry of Motor Vehicles. He was a member of F.O.P. Lodge 3. Peter was a very kind and generous person. He loved playing cards.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, David A. Capozzi and his wife Susan, and two grandchildren, Ryan and Chelsey Capozzi.

The funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Ave. VISITATION Thursday 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Bank, 1804 Atwood Ave, Johnston, RI 02919.
