Ralph T. Campagnone, 72, of North Providence, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009 at Home and Hospice Care of RI. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas and Michelina (Monente) Campagnone.
Ralph worked as Human Resource Director for the Providence School Department and served in many capacities for the School Department, including Principal of Mt. Pleasant, Central and Hope High Schools as well as Principal of Esek Hopkins Middle School. He was a 1959 graduate of Providence College, receiving his Master of Education Degree from PC in 1966. He was a member of the Italo American Club since 1975 and was a past president. He was also on the Mt. Pleasant High School Reunion Committee Board and was Chairman of the Atlantic City Travel Association. A historian of WWII, he served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was an avid Yankees fan.
He leaves three sons, Thomas Campagnone, Joseph Campagnone and Michael Campagnone and his wife, Tonya; three grandchildren, Domenico Campagnone, Angelo Campagnone and Thomas Smith and a great grandson, Dylan Smith.
His funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.
