Ralph P. Fargnoli, Sr., passed away on December 7, 2024. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, to Joseph Fargnoli and Maria Julia (Sabetti) Fargnoli, he lived a life dedicated to service and family. He was a devoted communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Providence.
Ralph's devotion to his family was unwavering. He was the cherished husband of Phyllis A. Fargnoli, with whom he shared 70 years of love and companionship. His memory lives on through his three children: Joseph P. Fargnoli, Sr. and his wife Patricia; Ralph P. Fargnoli, Jr. and his wife Judith; and Mary Elizabeth Leone and her husband Marc. His legacy is further enriched by his ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Ralph was a proud veteran of the Korean War era, having served his country in the United States Army. He achieved the rank of Sergeant with the prestigious 3rd Infantry Regiment, 'The Old Guard,' stationed in Washington, D.C. He also served in the 152nd Air National Guard unit for two years. His dedication to service extended beyond the military, as he spent 32 years in the United States Postal Service, including 22 years in management positions at the divisional and regional levels.
Ralph was a devoted family man who enjoyed creating lasting memories with his children at Rhode Island's beaches. A lifelong sports fan, he found pleasure in following the New York Yankees and New York Football Giants, enjoying countless afternoon games on radio and television.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will be private in St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ralph’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org
