Ralph Messore, 90, of Providence, passed away Monday, August 9 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice ( D’Amico) Messore. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angeloantonio and Maria (Borelli) Messore.
Ralph was a letter carrier with the U.S. Post Office and had also worked as a baker on Valley St. After retirement from the Post Office, he worked at Delta Drug. An Army Veteran of WWII, he received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was an avid Yankees fan.
He leaves two daughters, Donna Ferrara and Linda Hopper and her husband Dennis; five grandchildren, Michael and Cynthia Gowett, Kelli Ferrara, Jason and Emily Hopper; a sister, Catherine DeRobbio and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Salvatore, William and John Messore.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Ave., Providence. Visitation Friday 5-8 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
