Richard L. Cote, 80, of North Providence, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Leonardo) Cote. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Conrad and Maguerite (St. George) Cote.
Richard loved spending time with his family, playing his flute, and serving his church through music. His generosity towards his family and friends was truly remarkable. Richard always empathized with those in the greatest of need, taking the lonely, poor, and sick under his wing. He was a successful restauranteur, owning restaurants throughout New England. His outgoing positive personality attracted a multitude of fans.
Besides his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his daughters, Dollie Blanchard and Laurie Cote; his son, Daniel Cote, and five grandchildren, Hannah Cote, Paige Cote, Benjamin Cote, Mitchell Blanchard and Kyle Blanchard. He was the brother of the late Maurice Cote, Paulette Dugas and Louise Flynn.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 9 AM from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave, Providence. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-8 PM.
