Richard E. Laboissonniere

December 23, 1930 — August 8, 2022

Richard E. Laboissonniere, 91, of North Providence, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 8, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Brenda (Zambarano) Laboissonniere for over 54 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lillian (Young) Laboisssonniere.

Richard worked for New England Telephone, AT&T and Lucent Technologies for many years before retiring. A faithful Catholic, he was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church and served as a trustee. He bravely served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Maria Hood and her husband, Kevin, Richard Laboissonniere, Jr. and David Laboissonniere; his brother, Leonard Laboissonniere; and six grandchildren, Allyson Hood, James, Adam, Brian, Matthew and Katherine Laboissonniere. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Morrissey and Norma Carr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 4 - 7 p.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to The Johnny Lo Bello Friendship Fund, P.O. Box 19432, Johnston, RI 02919.
