Rita M. Richard (Gendron), 79, formerly of McGuire Rd., passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, August 4, 2007. Born in the Valley Falls section of Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Inez (Larrow) Gendron. She lived in Providence most of her life and moved to North Providence several years ago to be near her daughter.
In addition to raising her children, she had worked many years for Chief’s Discount Jewelry of Warwick. She is survived by her two sons, George J. Richard III and John Cardillo; four daughters, Gloria Ottiano, Sheila Miele, Shirley Grande and her husband, Ret. Lt. James P. Grande, Sr., NPFD and Patricia Bolarinho; a sister, Marie Connors; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Anne F. “Fran” Richard.
Her funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence, RI, 02911.
