ROSCOE E.CONKLIN JR., “ROCKY” 86, of Coventry, RI and Wardsboro, VT, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2006, at home. He was the husband of the late Phyllis G. (Cole) Conklin. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Roscoe E. and Jane (Lucas ) Conklin. He had previously lived in East Providence for nearly 60 years prior to moving to Coventry in 2004.
Roscoe had worked for McAlpine Refining of Providence for over 33 years prior to retiring in 1983. He served as a member of a flight crew aboard B-17 and B-24 bombers of the 8th Air Force of the U.S.A.A.F. during WWII. He was also an avid stamp collector.
He is survived by his children, Jon W. Conklin and his wife Debra of West Greenwich and Charles G. Conklin and his wife Donna of North Providence; Grandchildren David, Shawn, Brian and Christian Conklin and Great Grandchildren, Zoe, Casey Marie, Sebastian and Cooper Conklin and is also survived by his sister, Dorothy C. MacDonald of Warwick. He was the brother of the late Donald F. Conklin.
VISITATION Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11am, followed by a service at 11am in the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
