Rose Antonelli

April 21, 1927 — April 5, 2022

Rose Antonelli, 94, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. She was the wife of the late Carl Antonelli. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Hovsep and Baidzar (Der Marderosian) Chevian.

Rose was a human relations specialist at Mt. Pleasant High School for many years before retiring. She was a former member of The Providence School Committee and a lifelong member of the Parent Teacher Association of America. She loved music and enjoyed singing and dancing.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her son, Steven Antonelli and her daughter, Deborah Antonelli Barchi; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Domenic J. Antonelli and sister of the late Mgrdich (Michael) Chevian, Mesrab Chevian, Tate Chevian, Elizabeth Chevian, Alice Chevian Mangione, Charles Chevian, and Mary Chevian Grant.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Friday 4 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose's memory may be made to Crossroads RI , 160 Broad Street, Providence RI 02903.
