Rose D. Marcaccio

Rose D. Marcaccio (DiTommaso), 84, of North Providence, passed away Saturday July 28, 2018 at Roger Williams Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Edward J. Marcaccio. Born in Middletown, CT, she was the daughter of the late Donato and Antoinette (DeMasi) DiTommaso. Rose, a graduate of Brown University, Class of 1955, was an elementary school teacher in North Providence for many years, where she was honored as Teacher of the Year. An avid gardener, she was a member of the Sundial Garden Club. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Besides her husband of 62 years, she is survived by her sons, Edward J Marcaccio, Jr., M.D., and his wife Beth, and Paul T. Marcaccio, M.D., and his wife Donna; a sister, Catherine Schmitz, and four grandchildren, Christina Marcaccio, M.D., Stephen Marcaccio, M.D., Paul Marcaccio and Michael Marcaccio. She was the sister of the late Ben DiTommaso. Visiting hours will be Tuesday July 31, 2018 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
