Rudolph Martini "Dick", 77, of Providence, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Ida A. “Edie” (Fallone) Martini. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfonso and Angelina (Sbardella) Martini.
He had worked as the manager for the former Vogue Creations and Mr. Joseph, Inc. He was also a self-employed accountant. He served his country as a Marine during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of several area Veterans groups including the Purple Heart Association and the Marine Corps League. He was an avid Yankee fan and history buff. He also loved to travel.
Rudolph was a loving husband and a devoted father. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Rudolph “Dick” M. Martini and Robert J. Martini and his wife Karen and their beloved dog, Buddy; three sisters, Louise Giarusso, Veronica Ricci and Alfonsina Martini and a long-time family friend, Eileen McKenna. He was the brother of the late Benny Martini, Mary Fusco, Elvira DelGreco, Malfalda Ciolfi, Ida Hillman, Lenora Martini and Olga Martini
Visitation Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:15 am at the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Holy Cross Church, Hartford Ave, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Toys For Tots Program, U.S. Marine Corps, One Narragansett St., Providence, RI 02905 --------------------------
