CARLEVALE, RUTH ( ZANNELLI) 99, of Lynch St., formerly of Ridge St., passed away Friday, April 14, 2006, at Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston. Born in Seneca Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Benedetto and Christina (Amateo) Zannelli.
Ruth had been employed for many years by the Spiedel Corporation, Briers Manufacturing Co. and U.S. Rubber Co.. When she moved to Somerville, N.J., she was employed by the Dhiel Manufacturing Co. in Findern, N.J., assembling anti-aircraft guns for planes flying during the war years. Upon her return to Providence, she worked for Anson Inc. for 16 years. She was a communicant of Holy Ghost church and was a member of the Women’s Catholic League and the Legion of Mary.
She leaves two sons, Roy E. and Edward Carlevale; a daughter Louise Zompa; two sisters, Betty Finelli and Angie Chotkowski; two brothers, Ralph and Louis Zannelli; 21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Francis Carlevale , Edward’s twin, and the sister of the late Benny Zannelli.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 8am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. VISITATION Monday 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave., Providence, R,I. O2909.
