Savino "Sal" Sivo

August 18, 1917 — July 26, 2012

Savino Sivo "Sal", 94, of North Providence, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late A. Carmela (Bonetti) Sivo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carlo and Antonetta (Colucci) Sivo.

Mr. Sivo had worked for over thirty years at Trifari Jewelry managing the shipping department. After retirement, he was a Senatorial Aid at the Rhode Island State House for more than 10 years. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Men’s City Club. Family and friends will remember him as an avid New York Yankees fan.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Mr. Sivo is survived by his son, Carl S. Sivo and his wife Sandra; his daughter, Frances C. Paolantonio; two sisters, Teresa Neri and Anna Procaccini; four grandchildren, Joy Bianco, Gina Cozza, Michelle Stetler and Lisa Wright and his nine great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Isabella, Alexandra and Madison Bianco, Casey and Taylor Hanrahan, Grace and Michael Stetler and Thomas Wright.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. VISITATION Tuesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Wakefield Rotary Charitable Foundation, PO Box 382, Wakefield, RI 02880.
