MONTECALVO, SILVIO N. “SAL”, 76, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2006, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Mary (Ravo) Montecalvo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Carmella (Savella) Montecalvo. He had lived in North Providence for the the past 47 years.
He had worked for the North Providence Housing Authority and had previously worked as a maintenance foreman at North Central Airport for 37 years. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Sal was a loving husband and a devoted father and grandfather. He and Mary had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Michael A, Montecalvo and his wife Carol; two daughters, Mary Ann Mattiello and her husband Nicholas and Sally Pierce and her husband Harry; two brothers, John and Mario Montecalvo; two sisters, Mary Monti and Filomena Montecalvo; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Joseph Montecalvo.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, Fourth St. VISITATION Tuesday 5-8pm.
