Thomas Lucciola

October 9, 1925 — March 18, 2016

Thomas Lucciola, 90, of North Providence, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 18, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Gloria (Cangi) Lucciola for 62 years. Born in Caserta, Italy on October 9, 1925, he was the son of the late Carlo and Emanuela (Verdone) Lucciola.

Thomas was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and was employed by the United States Postal Service in Providence for 25 years. He also owned and operated Tommy’s Shoe Repair in Providence for 25 years and was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lydia A. Scungio and her husband Pasco of Johnston and Patricia A. Lucciola of North Providence. He was the brother of the late Carmine Lucciola of Providence and leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the VA Hospital and the Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of RI for all their care.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 8:45 am to 9:45 am at the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence RI 02904 and/or Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 24 Fourth St., North Providence, RI 02911.
