Viola Rossi

VIOLA ROSSI (GOLATO), 93, a lifelong resident of Providence, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Hopkins Manor in North Providence. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Rossi and the daughter of the late Nicola and Maria (Golato) Golato.

Viola was a loving wife and mother and a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves a daughter, Maria Montaquila and her husband Thomas P. Montaquila; a sister, Lillian Scampoli; two grandchildren, Jennifer Prior and her husband Dan Prior and Thomas C. Montaquila. She also leaves two great grandchildren, Daniel Joseph Prior, Jr. and Jillian Hope Prior. She was the sister of the late Louie Golato and Jennie Barra.

Visitation at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence Saturday morning 8:15 to 9:15am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart and Stroke Assoc., PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NJ 13220.
