Virginia E. Luzzi, 92, of Johnston, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Cherry Hill Nursing Center. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Mariano and Anna (Calcione) Luzzi. She grew up in Providence but later moved to North Providence where she spent most of her adult life. She graduated from Central High School where she learned the skills to be a secretary. Virginia was a secretary to the Director of Nursing at Rhode Island Hospital. She later went to work at the Rhode Island Department of Education where she was also a secretary. She retired from there. Virginia worked hard to help support her family. She lived with her parents and her sister Marilyn her whole life. She thoroughly enjoyed life and took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with family and friends. She loved to travel and went to Italy two times, Greece, Germany and Austria. She enjoyed cooking and learned to cook from her mother when everything was made from scratch. She was a member of the senior centers and took different classes there. She made some beautiful ceramic pieces. She is survived by her sister Marilyn Luzzi as well as several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Michael Luzzi, Edward Luzzi, Amelia Baldisseri, Anna Luzzi and Lillian DiMeo. Virginia was a wonderful, loving sister and a favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was loved very much and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Consistent with precautions due to the Coronavirus, Virginia's funeral and burial will be private.
