William O. Pelletier, 82, of North Providence, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. Born in North Adams, MA, he was the son of the late William A. and Corona (Lamothe) Pelletier.
A graduate of Bryant College, William worked as an accountant for various firms, and for fifteen years he was employed by the State of Rhode Island, his last position being Chief Supervisor of the Business Enterprises Program at Services for the Blind. He was a past director of the National Association of Accountants, Providence Chapter. A World War II Veteran, he served as a Petty Officer, Radio Operator.
He is survived by two sisters, Veronique Dickey and Mariette Zambarano; nineteen nieces and nephews and a long-time friend, Kay Ryan. He was the brother of the late Cecile Edgerly and Maurice Pelletier.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston, followed by burial with Military Honors in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visitation Sunday 4-7 p.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name many be made to Bryant University, 1150 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917.
