Yolanda (Vi, Viola) Marie Perrucci, 95, formerly of Providence, died peacefully at her home in North Smithfield on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Born in Providence, she was the beloved daughter of the late Cosimo and Rose (Spaziano) Perrucci. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Perrucci Gentile, Bernadette Perrucci Burgess, Iolanda S Perrucci and brother, Barsanofio Perrucci; her nephew Frank Gentile Jr. and niece Marianne Gentile.
Yolanda graduated from Blessed Sacrament School and St Xavier's Academy High School, later receiving a certificate in accounting from Johnson and Wales College. She worked for over 35 years, until her retirement in 1994, for the City of Providence Water Supply Board as a payroll specialist. Her retirement celebration was attended by Mayor Cianci who presented her with a key to the city. After retiring, she spent her time volunteering at Hasbro Children's Hospital and the Providence Food Bank.
Yolanda was a devout follower of Christ and a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. During her years as an active parishioner, she was a member of the Rosary Group and Daughters of Isabella. She continued to be everyone's Prayer Warrior up to her passing. She was also an enthusiastic volunteer for many years at the Annual Parish Christmas Fair. Yolanda generously continued to support the church and school throughout the years. She also supported many Catholic missions.
Yolanda cherished spending time with family, taking trips to visit her nieces, Donna in Texas and Karen in New Hampshire. Many precious and wonderful memories were created during these gatherings. She loved to travel and her most cherished adventures were exploring Italy where she was able to spend time with cousins touring the country. In her younger years she would vacation to religious destinations, ocean cruises with friends, and as a child spent summers relaxing by the ocean shore with extended family.
To know Yolanda was to love Yolanda. Her warmth, humor, and wit never faltered. She found joy in the timeless music of her era with Frank Sinatra being a favorite and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Providence College Basketball. Yolanda was a woman of simplicity, yet she had a profound ability to help us all recognize the true value of what matters most in life.
